Frankfurts Michael Rütten is quickly becoming one of the most respected German jazz figures around and you´ll soon know why. He´s just compiled and mixed an Infracom Records compilation for the American market, finished a techno jazz remix for Kruders Peace Orchestra and will be signing an album deal with Compost for 2003. Damn. Don´t forget Mr. Rüttens cutting edge "Soulpatrol Radioshow", now syndicated in Portugal. Watch out GP." (Straight No Chaser/Winter 2001)
Michael Rütten has come a long way. After being a long term full spectrum DJ, journalist for German mags such as Groove and JazzThing, talented producer in a collaboration with Max Schneider, compiling the highly successful "Tribes- Soul Searching" series on Infracom, hosting his clubnight and Radioshow in Frankfurt and fullfilling the dues of a family father, Michael can be called a true missionary in every aspect.
Releasing their "Love EP" (which went No.1 in DCC charts and No.5 in the annual charts) on Infracom in spring 2001, their productions confirm the true quality already presented in his DJ-Sets. Where Max Schneider is the Sound Engineer and Producer of Soulpatrol, Michael Rütten is the man with the musical background bringing in his ideas. We are glad they contribute the perfect introductory track to this 8th volume of "Future Sounds of Jazz" in hybridysing the beautiful vocals of Marlene Johnson (from Frankfurt?s deep house imprint Stir 15) with some true 21st century dancefloor business.(compost records 2001/2002)
